ASSISTANT TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
11 weeks, June – August 2020
Can be combined with Scenic Carpenter contract for the right candidate.

The Assistant Technical Director is an integral member of the production team and reports to the Production Manager/Technical Director.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Repair and maintain the equipment and fixtures of the theatre
Provide necessary services for each show as Head Technician/Electrician and maintain the show in conjunction with the Stage Manager
Participate and assist during tech week
Supervise and participate in all set-ups, strikes, and flips.
Upkeep of sets as necessary throughout the summer
Assist with heavy lifting
Be responsible for health and safety issues and address any emergencies during shows or when PM is absent during rehearsals
Produce and execute sound effects, designs, and preshow music in collaboration with the director and Stage Manager
Maintain theatre intercom system
Hang and focus lights for the season
Assist lighting designer as required
Run the lighting board for all performances
Before each performance, ensure that all technical elements are in place and in working order and advise SM of any concerns.

Maintain a clean, safe and secure working environment including performing minor repairs to theatre equipment and tools in consultation with PM/TD
Report any accidents/incidents immediately, as per protocols outlined by PM/TD
Maintain appropriate first-aid kits
Ensure a professional, pleasant working environment
Abide by company rules and policies
COMPENSATION: $700-$750/week, commensurate with experience
Work hours vary based on production needs and schedule requirements. Some tech week scheduling may require unusual working hours. Flexibility is recommended.
